Lakeland, Florida Ranks in Top 10 in U.S. for # of Energy Star Buildings


As of 2009 Lakeland, Florida had 120 buildings that have been labeled as Energy Star rated buildings totaling approximately 11.4 million square feet of space. The EPA/Energy Star program has estimated that the energy costs savings produced is approximately $8.3 million or equal to 6,300 homes energy use.

2 – Washington, DC – 204 Buildings
3 – San Francisco, CA – 173 Buildings
4 – Denver, CO – 136 Buildings
5 – Chicago, IL – 134 Buildings
6 – Houston, TX – 133 Buildings
7 – Lakeland, FL – 120 Buildings
8 – Dallas-Fort Worth, TX – 113 Buildings
9 – Atlanta, GA – 102 Buildings
10 – New York, NY – 90 Buildings
